Draco's Preserve: Come Out and Explore!

Out on the Marsh in spring, during the dry season.

About Us

Started in the fall of 2008, Draco’s Preserve is part of the City of Boca Raton’s de Hornele Park. Beginning with the clearing of a retention pond at the end of 2008, we embarked on developing an outdoor environmental classroom/lab. There are four ecosystems in Draco's Preserve: Scrubland, Pond, Marsh Land, and Hardwood Hammock.

Our Work

We have begun data collection of water depth and weather conditions, set up time-lapse photography stations, created Banyan Tree Park Butterfly Garden, participated in making a Gopher turtle relocation site, succeeded in identifying animals and plants, and we participate in fund raising activities.

Join Us, Help Us, and Support Us!

If you don't mind getting your feet wet and a bit dirty, then you should come out to Draco's and check it out!
